    Birthday Happiness

Happy birthday to John! See, I remembered and everything. June 25th, the perfect day for a birthday. Happy birthday, hope you had fun.

Today is the last day of my uni term

I’ve said bye to all my friends, moved a load of stuff into my new house, and now just have to wait tomorrow to go home, and say a final goodbye to the room I’ve been living in all year. It’s weird really, because I feel closer to my friends here, who I’ve only known for eight months, than I do to many of my old school and college friends, some of who I knew all of my life. So it’s been really emotional saying ‘bye’, even though it’s only for three months, and I’ll probably catch up with some of them over the summer.

Anyway, as I sat here enjoying a six-pack (of Kinder Surprise eggs, sadly enough), I thought I’d log on and share birthday greetings with JRC, and do the Special Birthday Dance.

    So Happy Birthday.

Capital Records are now giving their valued customers a virus.

Though if you listen to the Beastie Boys, you probably deserve a virus. Preferably fatal.

I went to see this last night, and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed at a film more than I did at that one.

Strangely, though, at completely different times to everyone else in the cinema.

I can happily report that I’ve passed my first year of medicine with two satisfactory grades and one merit.

    Hooray for me.

We gather that things do not run as smoothly as they should down at BBC Bristol.

Apparently, someone in London recently sent an urgent video tape via courier which duly arrived in the post room at said outpost of The Corporation. One of the operatives therein – noticing that the label was peeling off – decided to replace it with a new one. He removed the original and stuck it on the fridge, intending to copy the address after lunch.

The next morning, the sender of the tape was surprised to find this voice message on his mobile. Enjoy.

I nearly wet myself when I first heard this.

A word of warning about drinking directly from cans of drink without washing them first. Madagascar’s La Gazette de la Grande Ile (6 April 2004) reports the tale of a woman who had taken a boat trip with friends and drunk from a can of drink she’d put into the boat’s refrigerator. She was taken ill and died two days later. The postmortem revealed she had died of fulminating leptospirosis, and examination of the can confirmed it had been contaminated with rat urine, which had dried on the top.

    No Viva!

Much celebration here in Stockton! I have no viva, which means that I’ve either passed or completely failed the year. Given that I’ve done well in all the assignments, it’s pretty unlikely that I’ll be the person (there’s usually only one or two) who’s failed.

So I’ve almost certainly passed, so I’m off out to celebrate (at 8.15am, which seems strangely exciting).

    Yey.
