Pub Truths: #1 in a series of 1
Overheard in the pub yesterday: “…That’s all very well, but countries can’t go round banging people up for questionable reasons based on questionable evidence against the view of pretty much every other country in the world, whether they’re planning poxy show trials or not!”
The conversation had nothing to do with the Iran Crisis. They were talking about Guantanamo Bay.

In the old days before, Castro won his 26 July revolution, rich people would go to Cuba for vacation. It was the place to go and no one complained if they were sent there.
Times change and now an “all expense paid trip to Cuba” is something only alleged terrorists get.
I realize the treatment one got at a hotel in before 1959 Cuba was usually a lot better then the Gitmo “guests” get. But if the USA simply improved the service and food they could have not only terrorists, but lots of ordinary people just begging to go to the “Gitmo Hilton”. With the huge cost of all our wars the government could use the extra money the Cuba tourism produced and relations with Castro could improve.
I have been in hotels and motels here in the U.S.. which were not much better then the cells and had food which was (believe it or not) even worse.
So we can keep the people we don’t like in detention, just give them the use of the swimming pool and send in some pretty females wearing miini swim suits.
Don’t you wish I was making America foreign policy?
