BBC to lose Neighbours

A pretty unreliable source which is known for reprinting tabloid gossip without credit claims that the BBC has pulled out of negotiations to keep Neighbours after its latest offer was rejected. Will it work outside of its cosy BBC home, though? I’m not so sure.

If Neighbours leaves the BBC and moved to channel 5, it will lose a significant number of UK viewers. If it moves to ITV, as long as they don’t mess around with the time slot as they used to do with Home and Away, then its ratings won’t be too badly affected.

What about if it moved to ITV2? Better or worse than on Five?

I’ve watched it for twenty years, and its hit rock bottom recently, I’m glad you’re notspeenind any more money an it. It has poor story lines, and even
favourite characters have become unbelievable. EN

But haven’t those things always been true? It’s never had great story lines, and heck, Harold came back from the dead – favourite characters have never really been believable. That’s the nature of soap-land.
