I agree with you entirely that such characterisations are wrong: I was merely seeking to satirise the tabloid newspapers' opinions of teenagers - hence the references to Mr Dacre and Mrs Lee-Potter. My personal opinion of "heavy metal pumping goths" is far from that end of the spectrum - as you can read in some detail <a href="http://sjhoward.co.uk/archive/2006/03/22/the-goth-subculture" rel="nofollow">here</a>. My partner and I were attacked by a pack of no less then 14 of them which left us hospitalised.
