I’ve said before that Caffè Nero is my natural third place. I don’t think I’ve admitted online before that I like their tea blend so much that I once bought a whole box of teabags from them… Mmm!

Stock management really doesn’t seem to be Asda’s strong point… which can make shopping there a somewhat frustrating experience. I often wonder about the extent to which this is due to not having an equivalent of Tesco’s Crucible database, and how much is due to a straightforward lack of high quality stock management systems.

In 1989, I was mugged, beaten and stabbed by a group of boys. To add insult to injury, not only did I lose half my blood but I lost my boyfriend too: he dumped me the next day, which wasn’t the most tactful piece of timing.

It is surely impossible any West Wing fan – or, indeed, anyone who isn’t a West Wing fan, to keep a straight face whilst watching this from Season 4. If you don’t own it, you can currently buy the whole 43 disc box set for under £40. That’s 26p an episode – how can you resist?

Whilst portfolios may encourage students to reflect, the quality of those reflections cannot be assumed. The substantial time commitment required for completion of a portfolio may detract from other important aspects of learning. It is vital to ensure that portfolios can be completed as easily and efficiently as possible, perhaps through encouraging students to include fewer pieces of evidence.
