Blair knocks Brown – it didn’t take long
This morning, Tony Blair was ‘delighted’ to back Gordon Brown as the next Prime Minister. I bet it hurt, and probably stuck in his throat a little. Nothing could have pained him more.
So not surprising, then, that Blair decided to get back at Brown by scheduling a speech for the same time as Brown’s campaign launch. It’s no accident – Alistair Campbell’s famed grid system tells us that. It’s clearly a spoiler.
Yesterday, Andrew Neil was practically running a book on when Blair’s first coded jibe about Blair would happen, and one commentator suggested it would be today. Looks like he was right.

Changing the guard doesn’t mean the UK new doctors are off the hook. My doctor told me today that with over 100 doctors being graduated from Michigan medical schools next month, only 3 are remaining in Michigan. Openings are available in the nicest parts of the state. In the U.P., which is next to the Canadian border, they even have 24 hour bait stores-thats how good the fishing is. The hunting is so good the deer run into the cars and are splattered all over the road. They actually want you to go hunt them to cull the herd. The summers are mild, not too hot. The winters have a decent amount of snow for snowmobiling and other winter sports. There are decent hospitals but they need good doctors to man them. If I were a doctor I would be glad to work up there. Every year Dr. Beebe drives around his parking lot honking his horn and showing off the deer on the roof of his car. He said if you or any other good Brits come over he will even show you his secret deer spots. We have first class universities so there are intelligent life forms here. I was at Central Michigan University a few days agocollege girls were in their mini bathing suit attire. As I have always said- there are many kinds of scenic views in central and northern Michigan. And, of course, you have the Great Lakes and you are only a short drive to Canada. Come on over.
