Weekend read: Do no harm

I generally make a point of not featuring items that are behind paywalls, but this week I’m making an exception. Matter, a publishing project I’ve been supporting for a little while now, has finally launched.

Their first story is about body integrity identity disorder, and the ethics of cutting off healthy limbs. It’s written by Anil Ananthaswamy, who you might know as a New Scientist contributor or author of The Edge of Physics. Anyway, the story is a brilliant insightful piece, and well worth your attention and 99p.

If, however, I’ve failed to convince you… there’s also a free extract on The Guardian’s site. Normal service, without paywalls, will be back next Friday.
