Classic FM increasingly popular with teenagers

Classic FM now has over half a million teenage listeners. Not all teenagers are heavy-metal pumping goths stalking the streets late at night with knives under their coats looking to jump old grannies.

Would anyone like to break the news to Mr Dacre? It’s have Mrs Lee-Potter turning in her grave.

I am shocked, that as an educated individual, you would categorise the danger of soceity to be “heavy metal pumping goths stalking the streets late at night with knives under their coats looking to jump old grannies”

If there is a social stereotype that is worthy of this moniker, look to the “chavs”. My partner and I were attacked by a pack of no less then 14 of them which left us hospitalised.

Whilst this articles focus is not on the type of person who listens to classic fm, I would request that you consider carefully your choice of analogy and euphimism in future articles.

    *Disappointed*

Thanks for your comment, and I entirely understand your disappointment, but would like to clarify that I personally am not of the opinion that these stereotypes are the greatest danger to today’s society.

I agree with you entirely that such characterisations are wrong: I was merely seeking to satirise the tabloid newspapers’ opinions of teenagers – hence the references to Mr Dacre and Mrs Lee-Potter.

My personal opinion of “heavy metal pumping goths” is far from that end of the spectrum – as you can read in some detail here.
